If there is one strategy that your business needs more than any other strategy, it’s an SEO strategy. SEO – or Search Engine Optimization – is designed to improve the website rankings. If you want to come to the top of the search engine results pages, then you need to have the right strategy in place to get there. The process of SEO usually includes identifying the right keywords that your target audience will use when searching for your products or services although similar to yours.
SEO is such an important thing to have for your business because you need people to be able to find your website and your blog pages. A top SEO specialist should help you to do that, but there is so much more to it! You don’t have to be an SEO expert to get this right, you just have to understand why SEO is so important and how to leverage it to improve your business.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
Myth #1: You Need Paid Ad Space
If you have an effective SEO strategy, you don’t need to have a space that you pay for. Sure, there are ads at the top of the Google search results, but your site can be just a little further down the page completely free. It’s also important to note that the traditional adverts online do have a start and an end time. Although this can be effective for targeting certain audiences, times, etc., sometimes a limited campaign doesn’t support a continued reach.
Rather than focusing on paid ads, start with creating a clearly-defined website, text, and landing pages. Then, start building credibility through consistent posting, social media, and blog posts. And don’t forget to engage with your audience, too!
Myth #2: You Don’t Have To Define A Target Audience
If you have a thriving business, chances are, your customers and target audience are aligned. With the right search engine optimization strategy, you can target this audience to lead to sales. One of the easiest way to do this is through keywords and specifically ranking your website for keywords that your target audience would be searching. If they are searching the same keywords that come up on your website, then they’ll be easily able to find you.
Myth #3: Google Search Results Don’t Matter
At the end of the day, you can make sales without a strong SEO strategy… but why put yourself in this position? People are likely to Google something and choose from the top businesses they see. Why? Because these businesses seem credible and trustworthy. Why would anyone scroll through pages and pages to find a product that you’re offering when there are companies on the first page they can offer it to them right away?
SEO is important, yes, but don’t focus so much on the specifics that you lose the purpose.
