The truth is, forgiveness is not only just about them, it’s about me, you, us. Learning to forgive is so hard, but so worth it.
It took me months of therapy to realize I was not meant to follow the crowd. I am my own unique individual. Realizing this was the first step to self-love.
Forgiveness does not happen overnight. It requires a certain amount of time, especially when you are deeply impacted by the trauma.
When you forgive, you are releasing yourself from the toxicity of the person’s hurtful behavior and deeds. You are allowing yourself to heal and grow.
I hope you forgive yourself for the times you were human. And remind yourself that being human is nothing that you should apologize for in the first place.
